The Manzanares Method of Science-Based Reflexology
Dr. Jesus Manzanares, M.D. and Medical Reflexologist from Barcelona, Spain is teaching the first of its kind: Science-Based Reflexology Education. Classes are now enrolling for April 2009 in Los Angeles.
Born in Barcelona, Spain, Dr. Manzanares is a graduate in medicine and surgery for the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He began specializing in reflexology and homeopathy in 1980 and his research in neuro-physiology is based on more than 70,000 clinical cases of reflexology over the past 20 years. He has taught his method of
reflexology around the globe.
This is the first time for such a unique opportunity to study with a renowned doctor who has done research over 28 years with 70,000 clinical cases of reflexology. He is the first to perform biopsies on the feet that study and document what is found in the actual tissue of the tender 'reflex areas'. He is the author of numerous books including, Principles of Reflexology I & II, and the creator of the first scientific-based reflexology maps of the feet.
In his book, Principles of Reflexology, Dr. Manzanares says:
"...a definition of Reflexology that can explain the mechanisms and structures in the process is: A reflex technique, based on the neuro-biochemical action that is produced by stimulating a specific area of the foot, that has a general or partial repercussion in the organism of the body. This is possible because each structure and organ of the human body has a foot area where it is reflected, currently named the reflex area (example: stomach reflex area, liver reflex area). The reflex arch involves different structures: receptors or nerve endings, sensory nerves, spinal cord, reticular formation, thalamus, hypothalamus, cerebral cortex, vegetative nervous system."
Dr. Manzanares is now offering hands-on workshops in the U.S. Take your career to a higher level -- there has never been such an opportunity for reflexologists to enter the field of complementary and integrative medicine. A new education is necessary for the reflexologist of the future -- learn from the scientist/researcher/medical doctor who uses reflexology on his patients! It doesn't get any better.
